My role

Lead manager of the Kipling Strategic Income Fund, and sub-manager of the fixed income portions of NCM Income Growth Class and NCM Global Income Growth Class.

What I enjoy about work

I take pleasure in learning about individual companies - their management teams, their drivers of growth, and whether they possess a competitive advantage or not. In addition, I take keen interest in the economic and geopolitical news and how that may affect my holdings and my outlook.

How I got here

I worked on syndicated leveraged loans for nine years as part of a large US bank, which honed my credit analysis skills. That experience translated into my first fixed income portfolio management role focusing on leveraged loans and non-investment grade bonds. I continue to grow and learn, and presently my mandates primarily focus on investment grade bonds.

What I do outside of work

I am an avid skier, and a keen rugby fan (former player and coach - not terribly good at either, but a passion was born). I am happiest spending time with family and friends and my dog. I'm increasingly into history podcasts.

Have conviction! But leave room for error. Enjoy your successes, but stay humble.
