Regional Sales Manager (Wholesaler) GTA

POSITION SUMMARY

Based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) NCM Investments is seeking a Regional Sales Manager (wholesaler) to generate sales and develop new business focusing on the IIROC and MFDA Channels. The position will include establishing long-lasting relationships, servicing existing business partners and prospecting for new clients, as well as utilizing in-depth knowledge of NCM products, sales management skills and interpersonal skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrange one-on-one or group meetings with financial advisors to promote NCM products
  • Schedule and host events, roadshows and portfolio manager meetings
  • Develop a strategic business plan for the year and review it quarterly with the team to increase sales from advisors within the territory
  • Segmentation of the client base to define the service levels and to ensure sales from various distribution channels and firms
  • Maintain and service client relationships using territory rotations in order to increase sales and diversify our product usage
  • Work with the marketing and portfolio management team to effectively communicate fund objectives and performance within sales region
  • Data mine & populate the CRM system with all the information retrieved during meetings
  • Generate and develop new business relationships from phone and road work
  • Work effectively within a supportive team environment to meet and/or exceed company sales objectives
  • Special projects as required by the National Sales Manager

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a successful external sales person in the Canadian mutual fund industry
  • Strong Relationship Building and Relationship Management Skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience at developing and executing a successful sales and marketing plan

EDUCATION/ACCREDITATION

Minimum bachelor's degree in a field such as commerce, economics, finance, business administration
CSC/ IFIC is mandatory
CFP, CIM or CFA is preferred

Inside Sales Associate

POSITION SUMMARY

Based in NCM’s Calgary or Toronto office, the Inside Sales Associate will manage advisor relationships in BC and AB, working alongside regional sales team members in Calgary.

The mandate will be to expand sales growth and service the retail Investment Advisor (IIROC and MFDA) channel for NCM’s complete retail product lineup including mutual funds, alternative investment funds, and other structured products.

As part of your duties, you will be assigned the following responsibilities:

  • Book and coordinate sales meetings & presentations with Regional Sales and Advisors promoting NCM investment products;
  • Increase market share and retain assets within your territory;
  • Maintain a high level of sales activity in the territory to ensure that NCM investment products remain top of mind for Advisors;
  • Develop a strategy to achieve weekly sales activities objectives;
  • Forge strong partnerships with Advisors;
  • Record daily activities using Salesforce (CRM);
  • Develop effective and professional working relationships with NCM investment management team, outside sales team, and other NCM partners;
  • Develop and share ongoing best practices, sales, marketing, and business development ideas and strategies with the NCM sales team, and provide sales strategies, concepts, marketing ideas and support.

EDUCATION/ACCREDITATION

University degree in Finance or equivalent industry education Completion of the Canadian Securities Course CIM and CFA designations are strong assets

  • Minimum of 3 years inside wholesaling experience in the retail financial services industry, including previous sales experience with mutual funds, alternative funds, and structured products
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Investment industry, preferably in sales
  • Business planning skills
  • Proven and demonstrated track record of a structured sales process and executing a sales strategy with measurable results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated with strong self-management ability
  • Capable of applying information about the economy, competitor products and services, and other financial information to influence sales
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Self-starter and organized
